Someone at work said the the terrorists wanted Obama to win and that's why he was voting for McCain. Aside from the fact that Republican foreign policy has undermined our efforts to fight, stop, and eradicate the terrorist. I thought it was strange. It seems in some ways like a Brayer Rabbit... "please please don't elect John McCain!" But also... its strange. The terrorists also want us to go away... are we just going to what they want us to do cause we are scared of them? Seems soft on terrorism.
That's how I'm going to respond to that theme...
"Look... I understand your concern about terrorism. That's why I disagree with your approach. We don't need to be soft on terrorism... we need to hit hard AND finish the job. Something George Bush and John McCain have failed to do."

Couple of things that this brings to mind for me. One- how does this particular person, working on a loading dock in greater ATL know what the "terrorists" want? (Other than he heard it from Hannity on Fox Entertainment)?
Two- by far the greatest cause of terrorism is the huge disparity in wealth between the "haves" and the "have-nots". As we continue to rape these countries of their natural resources, the problem of terrorism will only become a more pressing issue. We need to find a way to share some of our largess with those in the world more needy.
And to speak to that last point...I do not know if you heard that Gilbert Areanas (an NBA player) just re-signed with the Washington team for $111M. This is considerably less than he could have made on the open market. His statement said, "What can I do for all my people with $127M (projected "worth") that I can't do with $111M?" There MUST come a point when enough is enough. Keep the faith
